Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Knesset 2018

An important & unique round table, in which a delegation of leading Israeli cyber companies and CERT Israel met with members of the Israeli department of Foreign Affairs and Defense committee. Major issues were raised to improve awareness in regards to the local and global cyber market. Issues raised and discussed included:

  • The need for government Cyber incident support and guidelines for SMBs and not only critical infrastructure, their supply chain and large enterprises
  • Government involvement in the new privacy laws and GDPR in terms of guidance and support for Israeli startups
  • Government RFPs access for startup and financial support keeping knowledge and people as long-term strategic assets

The commercial cyber community pointed out that government focus on national critical infrastructure and close partner organizations was not enough. SMBs are also exposed to tremendous potential risk, and should therefore receive government’s attention as well.

We were honoured to produce, with the devoted help of Mr. Yisrael Gross.

It was great and inspiring to co-produce the Germany-Israel Cyber Opportunities together with our esteemed partners:

Cyber Security Council, GmbH, DWF Law GmbH, AHK Israel-Germany Chamber of Commerce, Checkmarx, HFN Law, Ecomotion and IATI.

After some interesting presentation from Germany Cyber Security Council, we discussed GDPR and everything Israel Technology & Cyber companies need to know for better doing business with Germany. That’s of course included culture differences, regulations and more.

The event was hosted by HFN and moderated by Shahar Alon from Checkmarx.
